At Bernhardt Winery our mission is to produce quality wines and provide a fun tasting experience in a warm environment. We are a small mom-and-pop boutique winery producing classic varietals and unique blends. We can produce approximately 6,000 gallons of wine each year. Our Tuscan-style tasting room sits on top of a beautiful hill overlooking endless hills and valleys, much like Tuscany. We carry traditional wine merchandise along with fine jellies, jams and sauces. We are located eight miles from historical Montgomery, home of the Texas flag, and 17 miles from Navasota, the jazz capital of Texas and home to numerous antique stores.

Joe & Dee Lynn Braman, Owners

Joe Braman’s family roots run deep in the rich, fertile soil of South Texas. They spread throughout ranching, real estate and oil in pure “Everything’s bigger in Texas” fashion. With such a strong family tree, why would Joe decide to vine? In a name: Mary. As Joe’s grandmother, Mary was first to see and develop Joe’s natural cooking talents. The time they spent together was one part learning and one part love of all things culinary, especially the importance of wines and pairings. This life compass has guided Joe through culinary school and some of the finest kitchens in the world. Like Texas, Joe’s ambitions for his winery are big. There are lots of unexplored tastes in the world of wine. Braman Wines will navigate you to the best, paired to occasion as much as to meal. This will be the Braman Legacy. Please join us in our tasting room to enjoy our selections of wines and kinship.

Retreat Hill Cellars compliments our winery and vineyard operation in Navasota. It is located in the old First State Bank Building, about two blocks north of SH 105 in downtown Montgomery, Texas, birthplace of the Texas flag. This magnificent building was built in 1906 and was one of the first, "State" banks in Texas. The old vault is still in the building but the safe is long gone. The bank was declared insolvent in the 1930's, but legend has it that someone tried to blow up the safe when the bank was thriving. The black burn marks are still on the wall. Come by and see us and enjoy a great part of Texas history. At the “Cellars” we make small batches of wine in the vault, host wine events and dinners, blend, barrel age and bottle our wines and have a first class tasting room with plenty of seating and tableside service. We will continue to grow grapes, harvest, crush and produce wine in Navasota.

Before grapes were cultivated for wine, before barley was malted to make beer, there was honey. Mead, also known as honeywine, is thought to be the oldest fermented beverage. Every European country as well as Ethiopia had a style of mead. With the advent of grape and barley cultivation and the rising prices of honey, mead fell into obscurity in the late 17th century. That is....until now. Rohan Meadery is a small, family - run winery specializing in artisanal honeywines and dedicated to bringing back this ancient and revered beverage - with a Texas twist of course! Our products feature all natural Texas honey and each batch is unique. Our ingredients are locally sourced and organic whenever possible. Come discover the unique and amazing taste of this old world drink. Wassail! Visit the Web site for upcoming events.
