Featured in the Wine Spectator, The New York Times, starred in "Destination Fantasy Weddings" on the Food Network and served in the White House, these hand-crafted award-winning Bordeaux, Burgundian and Rhone-styled wines are enjoyed with fine cuisine or casual fares. In the Texas Hill Country, 10 miles east of historic Fredericksburg off U.S. Highway 290, the winery replaces an original 19th-century German limestone barn and stands beside the 1880s log cabin (named The Homestead B&B). The tasting room features an antique bar originally from the Green Tree Saloon in San Antonio. There are 46 acres of French vinifera grapevines and three acres of lavender growing at the winery. Grape growing and wine making techniques follow strict French practices of limited yield, barrel fermentation and aging of red and white wines. The Lavender Haus reception hall and the winery verandah are available for parties, conferences and receptions. Becker Vineyards also hosts the annual Lavender Festival. June & Sheldon planted their vineyard in 2005 when they also started selling Texas wines. They chose Salado, TX for its central location, welcoming bed & breakfasts and beautiful creek, plus they already lived there after June ended her service as a US Army helicopter pilot at Fort Hood. Slowly and carefully tending to their vines and their business, they grew enough to include winemaking in 2010 when they fermented their first vintage on premise. The vineyard includes chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and sangiovese, but they continue to offer wines from other Texas wineries as well in order to satisfy many wine tasters. There is a party room available for special occasions, an art gallery featuring local artists and cheese from local cheese maker, Texas Cheese House and a Monthly Evening of Yoga & Wine. Annual events include the Texas Wine & Rogue Art Fest last weekend in March and Chocolate & Wine weekend last weekend in September.

Tastings, Restaurant, Art Gallery

Owners Scott Haupert and Manny Silerio were drawn to Mason, Texas in 1994. With family recipes from Manny's mother, Santos, the two opened the highly regarded restaurant, Santos Taqueria, on Mason's quaint town square in 1998. It was the same year Don Pullum planted the first vineyard, Akashic Vineyard, in Mason. Mason has attracted artisans, writers, sculptors, musicians and painters, including Bill Worrell, who's painting "Kindred Spirits" graces the Sandstone Cellars label and whose bronzes, paintings and jewelry are displayed in the winery's art gallery. Mason's first winery opened next to the restaurant in 2004. The award-winning wines have highly aromatic bouquets, core varietal flavors and exquisite mouthfeel. Experience the creativity, the food and wine, with an overnight stay at Scott and Manny's adjoining Lucia Homes Guesthouse.

Sister Creek Vineyards is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in Sisterdale, Texas (population 25). The traditional wines (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon Blend and Merlot) are made here. We use Bordeaux and Burgundy wine making techniques, aging our wines in 60-gallon oak barrels. Minimum filtration and fining allows the wine to retain its fullest flavors. In addition to these wines, an Italian-style Muscat Canelli is produced. The vineyard is located between the cypress-lined East and West Sister Creeks. A restored 1885 cotton gin houses the winery.

Stone House Vineyard and Winery, situated on a high bluff overlooking Lake Travis in the Texas Hill Country, produces national and international award-winning wines. Owners Howard and Angela Moenchs’ personal commitment to innovation and detail are apparent in the outstanding wines produced. They practice uniformity and care in the vineyard; the grapes are hand-harvested, and after crush, gentle maceration of the grapes is applied to extract maximum color and flavor. The wines are aged for 18 months in French oak, ensuring the highest quality. The winery's other great asset is its architecture of massive limestone blocks
